To think that ties were once probably used as hankies or as ‘wraparounds’ in the olden days in France. Cravats they were called back then and became the high-point of snobbish dressing. However, over time the tie has become more versatile and not considered snobbish any more and people from all walks of life use a tie to dress smart. Ties are not so high-brow any more. Indeed gone are the days when you see a tie and think of Wodehouse and his nobles and their fancy butlers. Wondering where I got all this historical trivia on one of my favorite clothing accessories?
